Hello, My name is Monica, and I own Dobereich Permanent registered Dobermanns & Border Terriers. I have been involved with dogs professionally as a breeder since 1992. For seven years prior to that I was involved in canine rescue and obedience training.
Rescue My involvement with rescue was extremely rewarding and gave me my start in animal behaviour. To be able to rehabilitate a dog and provide him/her with another chance at having a stable family life, taught me the importance of placing the right dog in the right home environment for him/her.
Over the years I have experienced such an abundance of pride and pleasure in each and every successful adoption. It always amazed me to see how much love a previously discarded or abused dog was willing to give. After receiving the time, love, and needed training, each rehabilitated dog proved that they were still capable of having a healthy loving relationship with their new family.
Obedience and Behaviour counselingThe very first dog that I trained in obedience was my own male Dobermann in 1985. A few years later I started to teach canine obedience to others and I currently still teach obedience from puppy classes up to advanced. I also provide behavioural counseling for specific deviations and behavioural problems. My experience in this area later proved to be an asset within my own kennel by giving me the opportunity to offer complete qualified support throughout all stages of your Dobermann's life.
Naturopathic Dietary ConsultingIn 1992 I acquired a Boxer "Buster" from the Boxer rescue. A year later Buster's health would prove to influence the direction of my studies in naturopathy. Buster developed a form of arthritis that was not responding to regular medicine. For this reason I started to take my studies much more seriously, turning my interest in alternative health measures into a passion to make a difference.
Buster was 4 years old when we stood in the vet’s office receiving the news that he would only be with us for another year or so. His arthritis would eventually cause his joints to seize and he would not be able to walk. However through Naturopathic and Herbal treatment alone Buster was fully mobile and beyond his 11th birthday.
Buster enriched and influenced our lives, he was, and still is my inspiration when it comes to the benefits of Naturopathy. These principles in whole nutrition are employed in my breeding program and with all my dogs regardless of breeding status or age. I offer baseline information and support as part of our standard puppy package. As an Animal Nutritional Consultant, I also offer private therapeutic or full dietary consultation for any breed of dog.
